Mr Albert Pace-Balzan qualified in London in 1977 and trained as a registrar in general surgery, before starting his training in ENT surgery. He was a senior house officer and registrar in ENT at Manchester Royal Infirmary before joining the senior registrar rotation in Manchester . He was a research fellow at the Ear Pathology Research Laboratory in Toronto , Canada in 1991. He completed his higher surgical training and was appointed Consultant ENT Surgeon in Chelmsford , Essex in 1992.

Dr Nick Huddy is a Consultant Anaesthetist and works regularly with Mr Pace-Balzan. He qualified in Medicine at London University and the Royal London Hospital in 1980. He was a registrar in anaesthesia at the Royal London Hospital from 1983 to 1985, The Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead from 1985 to 1986 and Westminster Hospital , London from 1986 to 1987. As a senior registrar at University College , London from 1987 to 1990 he worked at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children from 1987 to 1988 and at the Royal Brisbane Hospital in Australia from 1988 to 1989.
He was appointed Consultant Anaesthetist at Mid-Essex Hospitals Trust in 1990 and has developed special interests in Paediatric, ENT and Urological anaesthesia. He is a Paediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor.

Antoinette Minogue has been Mr Pace-Balzan's private secretary since 1992. She completed her general nursing training at Westminster Hospital , London in 1978 and was a sister on a paediatric ENT ward from 1982 to 1983. Her clinical experience makes her an invaluable member of the team.
